WEEKLY REFLECTION: JANUARY 01 TO JANUARY 06, 2018

Ø Coverage of Curricular Components:

I was able to cover six lesson plans in the week which includes:
1.     Electric circuits - Current Electricity- IX.J
2.     Combination of cells - Current Electricity- IX.J
3.     Electric current - Current Electricity- IX.J
4.     Reaction of sulphuric acid with salt- Compounds of non-metals – IX.F1
5.     Identification of sulphate salt – Compounds of non- metals- IX.F1
6.     Hydrogen chloride – Compounds of non- metals – IX. F1

Teaching Aids: 

The plus concept chart constructed to help student compose a definition for current
The plus concept chart for the lesson Combination of cells. Using this chart, students found the difference between the two circuits.

Ø Participation/ Leadership in Co-Scholastic Activities:

On January 6, Saturday we were given discipline duty during the fifth period. I was assigned class IX. I for class management.  

Ø Progress of other practicals during the week:

The pre-test for the project was administered in class IX. F1 on January 6, Saturday. The pre- test consisted of twenty questions based on the topic Asterism and Constellation from the chapter Our Universe.


Ø Difficulties Faces/ How you managed the situation:

The discipline duty in IX. I but I was able to manage the situation by engaging them in word games.

Ø Self-Reflection:

The week was a good kick start for the new year. I was happy that I could cover six lesson plans in the week and could complete the pre- test for my project.

I prepared a model on the experimental arrangement for the preparation of hydrogen chloride. I incorporated a plus concept chart on combination of cells which proved to be an effective strategy to keep the attention of the students. I am satisfied with my teaching but I need to improve on class management and giving more student-centered activities in my class.
