Ø School:
         St. Mary’s HSS, Pattom

Ø Dates of Practice:
              From November 20 to November 24, 2017

Ø Coverage of Curricular Components:
I was able to complete five lesson plans in this week. The lesson plans are as follows:
 1. Magnification: Refraction of Light - Class IX.J
 2. Eye and Vision: Refraction of Light - Class IX.J
 3. Neutralization Reaction: Acids, Alkalies and Salts - IX.F1
 4. pH scale - Acids, Alkalies and Salt - Class IX. F1
 5. Salts- Cations and Anions: Acids, Alkalies and Salts - Class IX.F1

Ø Progress of other practicals during the week:

Innovative teaching aids were constructed to make the teaching – learning process more effective. Review of various literature for my project was carried out.

Ø Areas that require further improvement:

Classroom management need to be improved in class IX. J

Ø Self-Reflection and Rating:

The week was well spent in school. I was able to take the class as planned. I gave activity sheets and was able to gather the attention of students with my teaching aids. Students were particularly interested in watching the videos. The experiment I carried out in class IX.F1 on Neutralization reaction was very effective. I could convey that chemistry is present in our everyday life using turmeric powder as indicator. I could instill a sense of appreciation of science in my classes by quoting real life examples.
The plus concept charts incorporated in classes added to its effectiveness and made the class student centered.
In short, I am satisfied with my classes but being a teacher in a world where technology is revolutionizing I would need continuous efforts to improve my teaching.
